I came to Berkeley in 1972 after a year in Oregon. Patty and I were living together. I completed a second senior year, writing my honors thesis, “Newton’s Sleep.”
I stayed at Berkeley through my master’s and PhD, then held teaching and research positions there until moving to Washington in 1980.
