Both my grandfathers used pocket watches. From about seventh grade through high school I too carried a pocket watch. I preferred baby bend watches that went for about three or four dollars and were sold at checkout counters. The baby bens kept poor time–off three to five minutes a day. They also broke often. Nonetheless I liked them for this very reason stating I did not want the correct time always strapped to by wrist.
For awhile I had a Sears Hunter watch which was a Christmas present
