West Africa, Nigeria, Benin style. A lost-wax cast bronze figure of a village chief or dignitary wearing a tall hat, beaded regalia and holding an object in one hand, with a green-blue patina.

Bronze casting in Benin City has been controlled by the royal guild of casters (Igun Eronmwon) for centuries. Today the guild also produces figures in the classic style for the market. Source: African Trophies, Trinidad, 2003.
