Road Trips during the Pandemic 2020

Barred from France by the Covid epidemic we took a driving vacation of the Hudson Valley, Cape Cod, Newport, T&T’s, and the Berkshires in early June. We rented a house on a lakes in Holmes, Duchess county for two weeks. There we hiked and kayaked on the lake. Then we spend two nights at the Newport Marriott before going up to a Cape Cod shoreline rental in Chatham for a week. On the way back we stopped at T&T’s for two nights and in a B&B in the Berkshires.

In early August we took a four-day trip first to Tom and Tim’s during a hurricane then up to the Catskills a visit to Storm King.

In September we spend two weeks in coastal Maine and Western Massachusetts.

September 11, lunch with Tom and Tim (stayed in Simsbury CT)
September 12, drove to Kennebunkport, stayed at the Nonantum Resort, dinner in a cabana (lobster roll #1)
September 13, drove to Camden where we stayed in a house built around 1850 in the historic district for six nights.
September 14, drove up coast to Belfast, lunch at Young’s Lobster Pound on the pier. Ate 3 lobster.

September 16-17, Tim stays with us. Dinner at Nathalie’s. Daniel has the lobster tasting course.
September 18, Farnsworth Museum
September 19, we drive to Portsmouth (lunch with Bruce and Julie in Boothbay Harbor).
September 20-21, Williamstown, Mass MOCA
September 22, visit Nadine, stay at the historic Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge
September 23, back to Manhattan.

In January we spent a week in Southhampton. The weather was cold and windy. With Covid that kept us inside most of the time. We did driving trips about the area.
