In the summer of 1973 Patty and I took our first trip to Europe. During the trip we found that Patty was pregnant. We landed in Brussels and bought an old Volkswagen van in which we toured Europe, selling the van in Rome in September. We stayed at the campgrounds found on the outskirts of many cities. At the Shakespeare festival in Stratford-upon-Avon we met the Cleggs whom we visited at their home in Manchester. In London we saw many plays.
The trip included Brussels, London, Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, Lancaster, Manchester, Edinburgh, York, Canterbury, Paris, Milan, Pisa, Florence and Rome.
