On October 10 Judith and I set off on a six-week vacation to Japan and Taiwan. In Japan, after a couple of days in Tokyo and a dinner at Florilège, we took the bullet train to the northern island of Hokkaido. We visited Noboribetsu and spent time at the hot springs. We then went south to visit the Benesse art island of Naoshima, Kinosaki and Nara. In Taiwan we visited Taipei and Hualien.
