Judith and I flew to Nantucket to see Valerie Curtin’s new play, David Gallagher. We were there with Tom and Tim, Pat and Edmund, and Gail Strickland. We visited the Whaling Museum, drove around the island, and had a most interesting lunch with David and Beverly Billings, where we saw their Chinese art collection.
Judith and I took a driving tour of Poland starting June 8, 2023. We visited Warsaw, the sand dunes on the Baltic, wooden churches in the south, Wrocław, Turówka, the Wieliczka salt mine and Kraków.
On March 27, 2023, Judith and I started a round-the-world trip. First we flew to Darwin, Australia, to join a small-ship cruise of Raja Ampat and the Spice Islands. In January 2023 we went to Rio with Tom and Tim. We spent a week at the Copacabana Palace hotel and then went to Búzios, a beach town. Tim, Tom and I hang-glided over the city down to the beach. We spent a morning at Sítio Roberto Burle Marx, the landscape architect’s gardens.
On the way back to New York we took the train to Turin and then on to Venice. We went to the Biennale in Venice, then flew to Paris for three days.
Judith and I took a two-week driving trip around the Pyrenees. We drove to San Sebastián along the French side and returned along the Spanish side through Andorra. In June I took a solo trip to the Peloponnese. Judith was visiting New York to be with Nadine after Ed died. I rented a small Fiat and went to Nafplio, Mycenae, the Mani Peninsula, and the mountains.
