September 21 I took a solo trip to Nashville. I visited the Country Music Hall of Fame, the National Museum of African American Music, and spent two days with Betty and Kory.

On September 5 we flew to Bologna for three days and then took the train to Venice for the Biennale.

Judith and I went to Edinburgh and the Scottish highlands. By train we visited Oban and Fort William. Among the shows we saw were Diva, Fame Hungry, I’m Almost There, I Wish You Well, Carmen, So Young, A Letter to Lyndon B. Johnson, and Cyrano.

On February 18 Judith and I left on an 11-day trip to Finland. We spent a day in Helsinki at the Hotel Kämp, then flew up to northern Lapland and stayed at the Northern Lights Village, where we went snowmobiling and drove a dog sled.

In January 2024 I took a solo trip to Arkansas. I visited Crystal Bridges, Eureka Springs, Hot Springs, and Little Rock.

On September 16 I flew to Columbus for a tour of my southern Ohio ancestors’ homes and graves. I visited Lancaster, Zaleski, Carroll, Jackson and Chillicothe, Ohio. I also toured the Indian mounds outside Chillicothe and did research at the Ross County Historical Society there.

Judith and I flew to Nantucket to see Valerie Curtin’s new play, David Gallagher. We were there with Tom and Tim, Pat and Edmund, and Gail Strickland. We visited the Whaling Museum, drove around the island, and had a most interesting lunch with David and Beverly Billings, where we saw their Chinese art collection.
