The date is far from exact, but about this time, I took Carolyn to Cabo to work out our problems. After separation from Patty I had been largely absent. Carolyn blamed me for the divorce. We spent a few days in Cabo fishing, swimming, and getting back together.
In December of 1992 I took a solo trip to Costa Rica. I saw San José, went up to the rainforests and went river rafting.
I rented an apartment in the Financial District after separating from Patty.
In November 1992, Patty and I separated. I moved to Jackson Street in San Francisco. Two years later, on October 14, 1994, the divorce became final. Patty, Carolyn and I drove down the coast of Portugal from Porto through Lisbon and along the southern coast to Spain (Jerez) and finally across to Tangier, Morocco.
Following political fights with the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), QPC lost most of its business. The company was reduced to Gail and me. Patty, Carolyn, and I rented a little BMW and did a circle trip of Hungary, Austria, and eastern Italy. We visited Budapest, Vienna, Innsbruck and Venice.
