Patty, Carolyn and I went to Mexico City and Cancún. Carolyn was a great hit in Cancún, with a band serenading her under our window and all the young men making much of her.
When Carolyn was two, Patty and I took our second trip to Europe. In Paris we leased a Simca and in London a small Ford. We spent substantial time in Spain. In June 1973 I was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with honors in Sociology and Speech. My senior thesis was titled “Newton’s Sleep.”
Patty and I moved back from Oregon to the Bay Area in 1972. We first lived with Sue Melrose in East Palo Alto, then moved to Menlo Park. We rode Patty’s tandem bike.
