Came to Berkeley in 1972 after a year in Oregon. Patty and I were living together. Completed my second senior year writing my honors thesis “Newton’s Sleep.” Stayed at Berkeley through my masters and PhD then took positions teaching and doing research. Moved to Washington in 1980.
